Every solvent swap is a chemistry problem first and a sustainability problem second.

Every solvent swap is a chemistry problem first and a sustainability problem second.

Greener solvent guides are widely available, but a candidate that scores well on a sustainability chart can still underperform in the flask.

Solubility, polarity, hydrogen-bonding behaviour, miscibility with downstream steps - if the physicochemical profile doesn't match what the reaction actually needs, the swap creates more work than it saves.

Our new Solvent Selection Tool reverses that order. Starting from the solvent you currently use, it surfaces single-solvent candidates and, where a simple switch might not fully satisfy the physiochemical properties, binary mixtures, then ranks them by greenness score.

The chemistry constraints are honoured by default; sustainability becomes what you optimize within them.

This sits alongside our HTE Plate Designer and chemistry-informed transfer-learning algorithms as part of the chemistry-led workflow we are building across the platform - making the decisions that shape a campaign easier to defend with data, not just precedent.

Sustainability becomes possible once the chemistry is right.
